I’ve been selling hotel rooms and resort stays for 25 years. I’ve walked every lobby, tested every pool, and eaten at every on-site restaurant you’ll find on the Grand Strand. Here’s what actually works for a Myrtle Beach trip in 2026-2027.

Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes is the best overall resort. Period. It sits north of the main strip in the upscale Grande Dunes area.

The spa is one of the best in the region. The pool deck has fire pits and plush loungers. The beach is quieter—less crowded than central Myrtle.

You’ll pay $250-$450 per night. It’s worth it for couples and anyone who wants polish without leaving the Strand. The only downside?

You’re north of the boardwalk and main attractions.

If you’re a family on a budget, Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort is your smartest spend. It’s a long-running beachfront complex in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Multiple oceanfront pools, lazy rivers, hot tubs, and a kids’ splash area.

Rooms range from standard units to multi-bedroom suites with kitchens. Rates: $150-$350 per night. The boardwalk, SkyWheel, and attractions are minutes away.

It gets busy and crowded in peak summer, and the decor is functional—not fancy. But you get maximum pools for the price.

For villa space, Marriott’s OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes delivers. Spacious two-bedroom villas with full kitchens, overlooking the Atlantic or landscaped gardens. Indoor and outdoor pools.

A quieter, more secluded feel. $300-$550 per night. Ideal for longer stays and groups who want room to spread out. The catch: timeshare-style availability can be limited, and you’re north of central attractions.

Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort balances casual luxury in the gated Kingston Resort area (Arcadian Shores). A swim-up bar pool. A rooftop lounge with some of the best views on the Strand. Rooms with ocean-breeze views. $250-$450 per night. Best for couples who want a rooftop scene and a quieter setting. Resort fees and parking add up.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort, also inside Kingston Resort, offers two-room suites, complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, and an evening happy hour. Indoor and outdoor pools. $250-$450 per night. It’s the best all-suite value for families who want included breakfast and room to spread out.

Large property that fills up fast in summer.

Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel is your downtown option. High-rise near the convention center. Indoor-outdoor pool, fitness center.

Walking distance to the boardwalk, SkyWheel, and Broadway at the Beach attractions. $150-$350 per night. The beach is a short walk—not directly oceanfront. Reliable Marriott points value for walkable downtown stays.

Here’s the blunt truth: The best resort for you depends on what you actually want. Upscale and calm? Marriott Grande Dunes. Pools and value for a family? Sea Crest. Villa space for a group? OceanWatch. Rooftop views for a couple? Hilton. Suites and breakfast for a family? Embassy Suites. Walkable downtown? Sheraton. Don’t overthink it.
