Everyone says Santorini has amazing all-inclusive resorts. I'm here to tell you that's a myth. Let me bust that one wide open.

Claim: "Santorini is a perfect all-inclusive destination."

Defend: I've spent 25 years in the revenue trenches, and I can tell you flat out: Santorini is a caldera-cliff dream of whitewashed cave suites, infinity pools, and the most famous sunset in the Aegean — but it is not a true all-inclusive destination. The volcanic terrain, tiny cliff-edge plots, and walkable villages mean almost every property here sells rooms with breakfast, or at most a half-board or curated dining package, rather than a Caribbean-style wristband.

If you're looking for a wristband, you're looking in the wrong sea.

Claim: "Canaves Oia Epitome is just another expensive hotel."

Defend: That's laughable. With that honest caveat out of the way, our Best Overall is Canaves Oia Epitome, whose pool suites and villas come with the island's most genuine all-inclusive-style package — à la carte breakfast, gourmet dinners, and a private sunset lounge.

It's a collection of 53 pool suites and villas set on the Oia cliffside above the fishing port of Ammoudi, with private plunge pools, an infinity pool, and a sunset bar. For travellers who want everything handled in one booking, this is the safest single choice in Santorini. And at about $900 a night, you're paying for the closest thing to a wristband stay at this tier.

Claim: "You have to spend a fortune for anything decent."

Defend: Wrong again. For the most resort for the money, our Best Value is Santo Maris Oia Luxury Suites & Spa, an adults-only all-suite hotel on rare flat ground with five pools and a spa, at entry rates far below the cliff-edge icons. It's an adults-only, all-suite hotel set on rare flat ground a short walk from the center of Oia, with five swimming pools, an Anne Sémonin spa, and an on-site restaurant.

Entry rates start around $280 — a fraction of the icons. It won't give you the dead-on caldera plunge-pool view of the cliff hotels, but for a full-service resort experience with breakfast included and the widest range of facilities at a sane price, it is the value standout.

Claim: "Katikies is just another infinity pool."

Defend: Not even close. Katikies was the first luxury hotel on the island to fully embrace Santorini's organic cliff topography, and it remains a trend-setter. It offers three infinity pools cascading down the Oia caldera, cave-style suites, and a Michelin-leaning fine-dining restaurant.

The whitewashed, blue-water infinity-pool image most people picture when they think of Santorini is essentially Katikies. It is adults-only and built for honeymoons and milestone trips. Breakfast is included; dinner and drinks are à la carte at resort prices.

From about $700 a night, you're buying a postcard view, not a buffet.

Claim: "Andronis Luxury Suites is overpriced."

Defend: Only if you don't value a private sunset view. Andronis Luxury Suites is a cliffside haven of cave-style suites with private infinity pools and hot tubs carved into the Oia caldera, overlooking the Aegean. Breakfast is included and served to the suite or terrace, and the on-site Lycabettus restaurant is one of the most celebrated fine-dining rooms on the island.

It is one of the best-positioned hotels for the Oia sunset. For about $750 a night, you get a private plunge pool and the island's best sunset view without leaving your terrace.

Claim: "Mystique is just another Marriott."

Defend: That's like saying a Ferrari is just another car. Carved into the rugged caldera cliffs of Oia, Mystique is a Luxury Collection property built for honeymoons and romantic escapes, with cave-pool suites, a wine cave, and the Captain's Lounge bar. Breakfast is included, and Marriott loyalty points and stays apply.

Dinner at the Charisma restaurant and drinks are à la carte. It blends understated Cycladic design with Marriott's reliability, making it a strong pick for travellers who want the iconic Oia setting plus loyalty-program value on a milestone trip. From about $800 a night, you're buying the Marriott safety net on a cliff edge.

So there you have it: every property above has its board basis flagged honestly — most are room-plus-breakfast, a few offer dinner-inclusive packages, and none is a classic all-inclusive. Plan to dine out in the villages or buy a dining package. And if you want the real data behind these picks, the kind Wall Street types actually use to make decisions, that's the kind of intel we dish out daily over at PULSE / CRO Syndicate.
